Basic safety bundle (3 grab bars + handheld shower): $600–$900
The starter safety upgrade. Three ADA-grade grab bars anchored into studs (toilet area, shower entry, inside shower), a handheld showerhead with diverter and slider bar, and anti-slip strips for tub and floor. Done in 3–4 hours, single visit.
Comprehensive bundle (basic + comfort-height toilet): $1,000–$1,500
Adds a comfort-height toilet (17–19" rather than the standard 14–15") which dramatically reduces strain on knees and hips. Toilet swap is 90 minutes; full bundle is a half-day visit.
Full aging-in-place package (comprehensive + cabinet swap + threshold work): $1,500–$2,500
Adds a swing-arm medicine cabinet at reach height, threshold reduction at bathroom entry, lever-style faucet handles. For homes preparing for a parent or partner to stay long-term.
Why drugstore grab bars fail (and ours don't)
Drugstore grab bars come with plastic toggle anchors rated for ~50 pounds of pull force. That sounds fine until someone falling actually grabs. Our grab bars are anchored with #14 stainless screws driven 2.5" into wall studs (or stud-blocked tile backing). Rated for 250+ pounds. Most home falls in bathrooms happen because the bar failed — ours don't.
Insurance, Medicare, and benefits
Medicare typically doesn't cover bathroom safety modifications. Some private insurance and Medicaid waivers do. Veterans benefits sometimes cover the work. We can provide an itemized invoice for any submission you need.
